Before & After

I want to live.

In 2003 I was out of shape, fat, and depressed.  I was diagnosed with testicular cancer.  I wasn’t ready to die.  I started exercising and eating right.  I started running.  I ran my first marathon in 2006.  I quit drinking in 2007.  I became a vegetarian in 2008.  Today, I am in the best shape of my life, athletic, and happy.

I made a conscious decision to start living my life in a vastly different way.  I decided to be the person I always knew I was meant to be.

It’s amazing to read about and see such things in life. You are a fascinating person. Wish you all the best!

I decided to be the person I was meant to be in 2009. I don’t know when I gave up, but somewhere between high school graduation and college graduation I had gotten lazy and started thinking that mediocrity was going to be hard enough to achieve let alone anything great. So I moved back to my hometown and became a part of what I like to call the “modern dirge” — this big funeral song sadly marching toward death that so many have accepted as the way in America today.

So, I decided to become the person I was meant to be too. I’m doing it in a much different way — although I really respect your physical efforts.

So, I guess I just wanted to say…I agree. And way to go!

It was quite easy for me to get sick about less than I year ago. I also smoked and drank a lot at the time. Then one day I thought that I can deserve a much better health so that I can do what I want to do. And I started to get up at about 4.30 or 5.00 to do martial arts. Now I’m healthier although I’m still slim. I like to get a little bit fatter, about 10 to 20 pounds, but that doesn’t matter much now because I have what I want – a good health. I know what you’ve done to improve your health are awesome.

So true. I like saying that you’re never too old to be happy. I dropped out of high school. About four years ago I decided to enrol in university as a mature student. It has been a life-changing experience. I’ve never been as fulfilled as I am now.
